(This essay is not about any particular figure, but just my own exclamation on the lovely years of youth. But it is nevertheless relevant to the topic of my blog -- the art of discovering what we want).
Because of so much memory I have, sometime I feel old, but when I remember I just turned 23 a month ago, I feel lucky like having won the lottery. If I think about it, I am now enjoying the maximum brainpower, robust health and stamina, little responsibilities and an ocean of possibilities. But the best thing is really that I am conscious of having them. This awareness perhaps comes from the many coming-of-age stories that my elder friends told me. From them I know that every age has its advantages, inconveniences and missions, and that one´s twenties is less about securing a stable financial future as being carried away by curiosity. I was once told that being a 20 something is about getting by with as little money as possible and choosing as freely as possible (but isn´t it always?). I agree.
There are few things as thrilling as realizing that I am living the freest period of my life while it has just begun.
(To end, enjoy this poignant French song about one's bygone youth.)
